These days, we are hearing a lot of buzz about facebook connect and its uses. So we thought of enabling facebook connect on GuidingShadow(GS) to allow our users to connect their facebook accounts.

Now we have made it easier for facebook users to sign up with GS using their facebook account. Being able to sign up and sign in with facebook account means that it’s just that simple to start using GS and build your travel profile.

How-To

If you are new to GS, you can sign up with GuidingShadow using your facebook account. A new GS account will be created for you and your facebook account is linked to it.
If you are an existing GS member, you can connect your facebook account with your already existing GS account. And there after you can use your facebook account to log into GuidingShadow.
No worries! It’s completely optional. If you want to keep your facebook and GS accounts separate, you can still use your username and password to log into GS.

We feel its cool! Check out yourself and let us know if you find it interesting.

Keep pouring in your suggestions and any new features you wish to see on GS. We are happy to take your comments.

As informed in the previous post, today we are excited to announce the release of some more cool features to make your trip logging experience even better. We redesigned the trip home page to show as much information as possible in a simple and organized way which will help travellers to plan trips effectively.

We tuned the interface where you enter your trip details, so that the information is more organized and can be leveraged by other travellers planning their trips.

Route details – Google Maps Integration

Now you can map your trips and let others know how did you travel!

Create a route for your trip by adding destinations, mode of transport and travel time in our easy to use interface. Also, include any stops in between for break journeys.

If you are not sure about any place, you can verify it on Google Maps by just clicking on verify map in our auto-suggestions box.

Yes, you add the destinations and we will generate a route for your trip and show it on Google Maps.

Hotels, Restaurants Details

You can write the hotel/restaurant reviews, rate them and give their contact information so that it helps future travellers. If you have stayed at multiple hotels in multiple destinations, you can write reviews about each one of them individually. Other trip members can also give their opinion/reviews by commenting on the hotels/restaurants.

Budget and other suggestions

Write about the expenses and approximate budget for the trip. Also you can suggest must visit places and thing one must do during this trip. Let your experiences help others, write some suggestions like things to carry, best time to visit etc.

Trip Sharing on Social Networks

Earlier we had given you option to share your trips on Twitter and Facebook, Now you can share and promote your trips on Orkut as well.

.

We are continuously working on new features and improving existing features. Please provide your valuable feedback, suggestions on these features and help us improve even more.

Keep visiting the blog for more updates and log all your trips
